ET Staff Advisory Council Spirit Award The E&T Staff Spirit Award was created to recognize staff members who through extraordinary service as well as professional, team, or volunteer contributions, exemplify the spirit of IUPUI and the School of Engineering and Technology. “Spirit” is demonstrated through one's positive attitude, acts of loyalty, teamwork, creativity, cooperation and contribution to the mission and goals of the School of Engineering and Technology. All biweekly and monthly paid staff as well as non-student hourly employees with at least one year of service to the School are eligible for this award. The E&T Staff Spirit Award will be presented at the Spring Honors Convocation to the staff member who most exemplifies the "spirit" of IUPUI and the School of Engineering and Technology. The recipient will receive a plaque and a $250 cash award. Nomination Process Who Can Nominate: Any administrator, faculty or staff member in the School of Engineering and Technology may make Nominations for the E&T Staff Spirit Award using the nomination form. Forms are available in the Dean’s office with Administration and Finance and on the G:drive in the Common folder, forms, SAC Forms. G:\COMMON\forms\SAC Forms. Deadline Nomination forms must be submitted by the second Friday in February, 5:00 p.m. to Selection Committee Chair. Selection Committee The staff awards committee will select a name of one staff person (CL, PA or TE) at random to serve as the selection committee chair. The staff awards committee will randomly select two faculty representatives from Engineering and two faculty representatives from Technology to serve as members of the selection committee. In addition, two CL/TE’s and two PA’s will be selected, at random, to serve on the committee. If any of the staff members on the selection committee are nominated for an award, the staff awards committee will select another name, at random, to replace the nominee. Staff members receiving nominations will not be allowed to serve on the selection committee. Selection Process Each member of the committee will review and rank the nomination forms, prior to attending the staff award committee meeting. The committee will review the scores and recommend a winner. The Dean will review the final selection.
